Our research project aims at providing explanations for young people perspective on Communist/Soviet past and to propose new public policies in order to transform this past from a 'foreign country' into a heritage to be passed on to future generations. Furthermore, as Romanian and Moldavian politics of memory are shaped by the European politics and legislation, our project will contribute to a better understanding of the memorial regimes of both countries as well as youth's reponses to them.
