The „Nicolae Iorga” Institute of History
The „Nicolae Iorga” Institute of History was founded by Nicolae Iorga on April 1, 1937 under the label, „Institute for the Study of Universal History”. It acquired its actual name in 1965. The current head of the Institute is Dr. Habilitation Mioara Anton.
The Institute's scientific mission is to edit fundamental historical sources from the medieval, modern and contemporary periods, and to build on these sources in individual or collective research projects. Key research themes include the history of the Old Regime, the history of the Black Sea, the history of commerce and merchants, accounts of foreign travellers from the medieval and modern periods, the modernisation of Romanian society in the 19th century, family history, the history of minorities, the history of the First World War, the history of Romanian Communism, gender studies, memory studies, and the history of historiography.

The National Museum of History of Moldova
The National Museum of History of Moldova is one of the most significant museum institutions in the Republic of Moldova, in terms of both its collection and its scientific reputation. The museum's permanent exhibition illustrates the history of Moldova from ancient times to the present day, showcasing authentic and revealing artefacts that depict the economic, cultural, political and social development of human societies in this geographical area throughout history.
Founded in December 1983, the museum is located in the city centre of Chișinău. Its current director is Dr. Habilitation Eugen Sava. Within the museum, several branch museums operate, including: The Museum of the Victims of Deportations and Political Repressions, created in July 2010, which showcases a permanent exhibition entitled “Soviet Moldova: Between Myths and Gulag”.https://www.nationalmuseum.md/en/
